The end of Mankala

Towards the end of Mankala, the rainfall becomes inconsistent and may fall only once a week until finally it stops altogether. In the Mangrove the Gundurung (Avicennia marina – light green leaf mangrove) starts to flower and in the bush the Minyjuru (Pouteria sericea- wild prune), Ngamarnajina (Ficus opposita- sand paper fig) and Yugulu (Cassytha filiformis) are in flower. Marul begins.
