There are some excellent visual resources accessible from this page especially the 3D pictures among which are: the Temple Mount, the Wailing Wall, the Dead Sea, an excavation at Masada, Manger Square and many others. These are accessible through the E-Map link. The site is best used by teachers as other parts of site are a little fundamentalist. Suitable for teacher background. Images from the New Testament
http://www.ewtn.com/gallery/tnt/index.htm
This site could provide the basis for useful class reflection on passages from the New Testament. Each of the images is accompanied by a passage from scripture with a link the whole passage from which it is selected. With data projector the images could be included in class liturgies. Unfortunately, there does not seem to an index so you will need to bookmark selected pages. Contains teaching and learning activities.
Virtual tour of the Holy Land
This nondenominational site allows users to make a virtual tour of the Holy Land and includes photos, videos, sounds, maps and text. There is an excellent Shockwave interactive tour that is probably the best resource for classroom use although you must sign up to use it (but only once)! Just as in real tours there are virtual souvenirs but accessing the resources makes it worthwhile putting up with them.
